Coast FIRE at 25 (Example)

At 25, a 40-year runway to retirement is the longest starting point on this page. Because compound growth is exponential, a dollar saved now has far more time to work than the same dollar saved a decade later — which is why the required Coast FIRE balance at this age is relatively low compared to older starting points, even for the same retirement target.

The example, in one line

Starting balance of $15,000, a 7% expected return,$40,000 in annual retirement spending, and a 4% withdrawal rate, targeting age 65. That puts the Coast FIRE number at$61,307, a gap of $46,307 from these savings.Change anything below to make it yours.
